MacAdam Profile Business Philosophy

Philosophically, I have always viewed business as a balance between quality and quantity. The production of asphalt or aggregates is a perfect case study of those sometime opposing forces. I learned early in my career that the best plant operator is one with quality control experience and the best quality control technician is one with plant experience. Although I do not consider myself a plant operator I have run plants at various times during my career and that with my QC experience, gives me a unique insight into the production and quality dichotomy. I believe without exception that quality can be and must be sustain during high production. One might realize some short term gain sacrificing quality for production but in the long term producing an inferior mix to gain some elusive profit will not pay dividends. The bible states prophetically in Proverbs 21:5 (New Living Translation) “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” in other words there is no right way to do something wrong.

As you may suspect I am follower of Jesus Christ and by God’s unmerited favor (Grace) I live each day as though it were a race. Paul, in I Corinthians 9: 24-26 (New Living Translation) says “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the price? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So run with purpose in every step.”

So I too, run the race from a spiritual and personal stand point. From a heavenly or spiritual perspective I follow the “final conclusion“of Solomon in Ecclesiastes 12: 12-14 “Here now is my final conclusion; Fear God and obey his commands, this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing whether good or bad.” And from a personal, but also a spiritual perspective, I work for every client as Paul encourages in Ephesians 6: 7-8 “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do whether slave or free.”

If you are a potential client my advice to you will always be given from a long term perspective, good planning and hard work and I run the race to win, while always mindful of obeying God’s commands and working enthusiastically for you as though working for the Lord.

God Bless You and Your Company!
